ESA WFL District Contest Season of 2008-2009 has begun. The first comp was a little bit on the smaller side, But so far Greg A. has been 3 for 3 with calling a contest with good waves and even better conditions. So rest assured - you sign, you surf!
So, this is it - The window is open for contest #2, but there will be one minor change - there will be "minimum" beach entries, and we do mean MINIMUM. For instance, lets say all of the competitors filled out their entry forms along with their current ESA membership and fees early and all of the slots were filled with the exception of 2 and you are one of the first few competitors there early enough (around 7 am) with slots open, you may be able to be added. Having our contest forms and fees prior to the contest saves much "standing around" time and allows us to run our contest much more smoothly. There are other districts that will not accept any beach entries, so we are being pretty lax in this rule. Also, if we can get at least 4 contests in for this season, you are able to drop your lowest contest score, so bear that in mind.

Sponsors of The Eastern Surfing Association

Welcome
to the New website for The Eastern Surfing Association (ESA) West
Florida District.
We do not have
many contests held in West Florida due to the lack of waves. But
we have a growing scene and a need for a great website with great
coverage. Please check back for more news and information on the
next contest.
Before entering
a contest you must be a member of the ESA. Click on the button above
for the link to join the ESA. Once you are a member you can download
the entry form HERE
to participate in any upcoming contests.
Life Membership change as of January 1, 2007 from $300.00 to $1,000.00.
WFL
District of the ESA is thinking about having ESA Judges Course training.
Before it is scheduled, they are trying to get a count as to how
many people would be interested.
If you are interested, please email -
agerskor@allkids.org and let us know.
Pro
Surfers such as Kelly Slater, Lisa Anderson, the Hobgoods and the
Lopez’s have learned some of their competitive skills and
have begun their competition careers with the Eastern Surfing Association
(ESA). The ESA is the largest amateur Surfing Association in the
WORLD with over 7,000 members. The West Florida District (WFL) ESA
is non-profit and runs strictly on volunteer support. ESA’S
MISSION: The ESA is dedicated to the sport of amateur surfers of
all ages and abilities and preservation of free access to a clean
shoreline and ocean environment. It is a family oriented program.
PLEASE HELP your Local West Florida Division of the Eastern Surfing
Association !!! We are asking that any kind hearts that have a little
bit of time to donate to our community’s West Florida Division
of the Eastern Surfing Association, please contact Robyn Agerskov
at agerskor@allkids.org as soon as possible.
THIS IS THE FIRST YEAR WITH A NEW DIRECTOR (Greg
Agerskov) AND HELP IS NEEDED IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
- Head Tabulator during contests -Sponsors to donate towards, trophies,
contests, etc. (we intend on having fundraisers but those alone
cannot support all of the ESA’s mission). - Someone to handle
points and standings and input those into our website - Trophies
- Jerry Lacasse is handing trophies We really appreciate your help
in the continued support of our community and representation for
the West Coast of Florida. We look forward to a fun and successful
year! Thanks again!
